Session reset – Log off other user on remote server

It is always a good practice to log-off session from remote server after completing the work. At times users miss to log off their session from Windows remote server not allowing other users to login into the Server. You may use reset session command to log off user from the server (Assuming there is no impact with user logging off).

• Step-1: Identify the sessionID which needs to be logged off on any server. (query session /server:SERVERNAME)
o Results will provide Session ID of each user sessions and the session status (Active or Disconnected)
• Step-2: Log off user session on the Server (reset session SESSION_ID /server:SERVERNAME)
o In below screenshot, I have logged of Session_ID 1 which was in disconnected state.

Symptom: The terminal server has exceeded the maximum number of allowed connections.
